We’ve done quite a few miles so far on the WaiBOP United Kit Tour, so it’s lucky our next stop is in Paeroa. Marko was getting thirsty and was desperately in need of a certain local beverage.
Paeroa’s oversized L&P bottle has stood more or less at the same site, right beside State Highway 2, since ages ago. A bottle first appeared in Paeroa in 1968, then was reconstructed in 1969 and has been a local landmark ever since. It remains something uniquely Kiwi.
