» WaiBOP United Kit Tour: Stop 13 – Mt Maunganui

Our burst along the impressive Bay of Plenty coastline brings us to our next stop – Mt Maunganui‘s main beach, which is presided over by ‘The Mount’.

There aren’t too many finer places in New Zealand to hang out during the summer than this stretch of white sand and azure water. And the view from the top of The Mount is one of the best going. It’s worth the short hike to the top.

Mt Maunganui is part of Tauranga city, which is the most populous centre in the Bay of Plenty.

Tauranga is the home to Tauranga City United, AFC Fury (no website), Old Blues, Otumoetai FC, Tauranga Boys College FC (no website) and Papamoa FC along with several junior clubs and schools.

Links Ave Stadium will play host to WaiBOP United for one match during the 2013/14 ASB Premiership season. This match will be announced when the season draw is published.
