WaiBOP United has been notified by New Zealand Football that the club fielded an ineligible player in our recent ASB Premiership match against Wanderers SC, and that as a consequence we will forfeit the match and receive a fine of $2000.
We appreciate this is hugely disappointing for our supporters, along with the team management and players as they performed so well on the pitch to gain a result.
The club is currently considering our options and potential response to this ruling.
