» Auckland Utd 2-1 WaiBOP Utd – ASBYL

The Bay SportsMed WaiBOP United Youth Team has slipped to only their second defeat of the season, going down to Auckland United by a solitary goal at Centre Park, Mangere.

Jacob Robb’s strike three minutes before the break ensured the teams entered half time level at one each and with all to play for during the second 45 minutes.

Unfortunately for us it was the hosts who did enough to find a winner and they now sit in second place in the Northern Conference, two points ahead of us and with a game to play.

Auckland City’s 2-1 win against Waitakere United on Saturday bagged the Northern Conference title for the Navy Blues and they’ll contest the ASB Youth League final against Nelson Marlborough in a couple of weeks time.

We now turn our attention to our final ASB Youth League match of the season when we host Waitakere at the Matamata Domain on Saturday March 8. Kick-off is at 2pm.

WaiBOP United Squad: Ruben Parker-Hanks; Liam Williams, Matt Wheeler (Joe Nottage), Shaun Morgan, Alfie Rogers; Jevon Williams, Jama Boss, Xavier Pratt, Jono Viviani (Luke Searle); Wade Molony, Jacob Robb. Sub not used: Scott Hilliar.
