The Youth Team played their second pre-season friendly at Waitakere United’s Fred Taylor Park in a match that acted as a curtain raiser, of sorts, to the ASB Premiership fixture between the two clubs.
WaiBOP had the better of the scoring chances, particularly during the second half, but could only manage the single Jono Viviani strike, while Waitakere countered well to score twice.
The coaching staff used the match to look at the bulk of their squad and will be impressed with the depth they have available for the coming season.
These two sides square off again this Saturday when we host Waitakere at John Kerkhof Park in Cambridge. Kick-off is at 12.30pm.
